Most ofthe Student of the department receive training in NCC ,civil defence and otherfields of lateral education.

Thedepartment of defence and strategic studies deals with the education ofmilitary system and national security. The course is crafted to understand thestrategic and defence management among the civilians of a country. The courseis for the students who are willing to serve our nation in various defencefrom. it covers the study of Geo politics, military geography, defence economics,nuclear policies etc. also includes domestic and strategic challenge ourNational defence and security interests.

Thecourse into promoted the development of military education and nationalsecurity among the students. Ample job opportunities are available at Indianarmy, Air force, Navy, education crops, defence journalism, civil service andpublic service commission.

Aim and Objectives of the Department

This courseoffers board knowledge on national security and functioning of internationalrelations and techniques adopted by nation-state in resolving there issuesrelating to peace and security. The course focuses on relating such techniquesto India’s security and that of under standing past approaches to India’snational security under different regimes. The course inculcates and impartsknowledge on defence/strategic affairs there by inculcating intellectual aptituderequired for young minds who want to take defence/security as a career. Finallyit aims to create a pool of trained planners , analysts, strategists andthinkers who are specialist in their field and also motivates young man andwoman to take armed forces as their career.
